The devil doesn’t walk with horns on his head.
There are no tails nor long sharp fingers.
The devil isn’t walking with sharp teeth or looking so scary.
He doesn’t always come in rags, he doesn’t appear drenched with the foul of his activities.
The devil could be seated right next to you beautifully dressed looking glamorously or handsomely. He could be presentable and smart in all manner of approaches.
Being subtle and delicate cannot be over-emphasized. He could be the most presentable and rational - calculative and logical.
The devil isn’t far - where you thought he wasn’t you’ll find him there. Manipulation is the watchword for him. Deceit is the first rhythm and lies are the beats of the day.
You think of him being far while he’s nearer than you can imagine even in the little things carrying out his works and goals.
Today, we have devils in suits, we have devils in natives, we have devils in classic outfits, we have devils in casuals, and we have devils in robes.
They come when you are not looking or being sensitive and are experts in painting all the lies with crystal logical reasoning. They are good at justifying each action and reasons why it should be so.
Their level of manipulation can twist a lie or the wrong thing into truth. They can make you see the right in it so that everything becomes clear and acceptable.
They show it to you, they make you listen and make you feel it then allow you to get lost in it through your acceptance.
You feel you are walking in the light of truth but all that there is is just a mirage that will one day turn to total darkness when it finally fades away or you must have reached your breaking point.
Sometimes, if you are not careful you pick up a thing that serves as their identity because they must have rubbed it on you. Just check, sometimes you might be manipulative and tell yourself you were just being smart.
Sometimes, you end up deceiving someone then tell yourself you have to beat them in the game and be the winner instead of being played. Why are you in the game in the first place?
Sometimes, you twist your words to suit you and the condition at hand and tell yourself you are telling the truth while the truth lies behind those words because there is a picture you want to present and those twisted words are what can bring out your desired perfect picture.
The devil isn’t just there to work alone, he also recruits and sometimes you fall victim because there are some DESIRES in us that he feeds on.
