The door to her room opened, and she emerged slowly. She walked down the corridor that led to the living room.
Upon arriving, she noticed him seated in the middle of the parlour, with his eyes closed, and both palms resting on his lap.
With a sly smile on her face, she reached for the remote control to switch on the television.
She walked past him, almost as if she was going to strike him, as she turned to take a seat on the three sitters behind him.
She found a comfortable spot and split her attention between the loud TV and her phone.
He turned to look at her, sighing as the once peaceful surroundings became noisy.
Shortly after, she felt the weight of his stare, prompting her to put down her phone and make an inquiring gesture.
"Rita, is it possible for you to give me a quiet moment in this house?"
She gave him a crazy laugh, laughing so hard she thought she would tumble off the cushion. "Are you serious?" A quiet moment, you say? You and I both know that if you let out the noise in your head the next minute, it would be enough to start World War III.
Your mind is currently chaotic, and no amount of silence will help. What you need is a lot of noise to counteract the chaos in your head so you can find some balance for a moment, and then it will all vanish, leaving you wondering where it went."
He looked at Rita as if he should toss her out the window and close it.
Reading the expression on his face “Oh, you want to throw me out? Thank goodness I am heavy and I have not even started talking; withdraw all of your patience, because the one you have is about to run out."
Rita sat down more comfortably, facing him with her two feet planted on the floor, and spoke while making hand gestures.

"Listen to me bro, because I am the only one who knows what is going on with you in this house.
When you play with fire, you risk getting burned.
If you embrace the ice, you will freeze.
If you venture into the deep waters, you are likely to drown.
If you carelessly open yourself up to the wind, you will be carried away.
Whatever you put your foot on, hold onto, or expose yourself to, there will always be an outcome.
An outcome that results from whatever you are doing or must have been involved in.
Do not expect a leopard to change its spots.
No matter what they eat, a carnivore will never turn into a herbivore—it is in their genetic makeup.
A fish cannot survive outside of water.

Delay in seeing the other side of the coin is a strategy for remaining ignorant of reality.
Hmm, I know you feel as if your innocence was exploited and your kindness was taken for granted.
Just to be clear, never change who you are because of an unfortunate incident. Understand that you are not alone. You are free to shout if you wish.
Allow yourself to feel your emotions and process them over time. Most importantly, do not be hard on yourself. The more you are hard on yourself, the further you sink.
Do not stay weak; the longer you stay weak, the more likely you are to lose touch with your true self.
Do whatever you can to keep your light and smile alive.
She smiled and held out her hand for a handshake. He glanced at her, sighed, and shook her while using it as support for himself to stand. He then sat down beside her.
In an attempt to feel relieved, she joked with him, breaking the ice and making them both laugh.
"What should we have for breakfast?" he asked, seemingly out of nowhere.
"First, let us get some fresh air."
“Sure.”
